EOS 5D Housing(digideep)
Just a few days after Canon has disclosed the secret of the EOS 5D DSLR, the digital u/w photo community also welcomes a brand new innovation. Codenamed „Black Pearl“ the new owners of HUGYFOT introduce the world’s most compact underwater housing machined from aluminium for a digital SLR camera.
The Canon 350D is currently the smallest digital single lense reflex camera on the market. For everyone who is interested to tickle maximum performance out of this “8-megapixel power midget” while underwater should take a closer look at a creative tool manufactured by HUGYFOT, Belgium.
HUGYFOT’s traditionally, patented concept of one-handed shooting and handling is boosted to a higher level of digital underwater performance. It’s a new benchmark of compactness and aqua-dynamic design of this digital underwater photo system that takes it there. The developers have attached importance to making the camera controls for aperture, shutter speed and Canon’s important “ * “ – button operational with only one hand.
Another revolution for aluminium anodized underwater housings is that it features full-compatibility to the widespread and price-worthy fibre-optic digital underwater strobes. HUGYFOT intents to help all owners of popular substrobe brands, such as Sea&Sea, INON, Epoque when migrating to a digital SLR for underwater use. As synchronisation is done via the internal strobe, the interpretation of the Canon E-TTL2 signal is possible without additional adapters. Therefore you just plug the optical cable in the fashionable “Helmet” of the housing. For traditional strobe utilization in manual mode the housing also comes with standard Nikonos V socket. It is also possible to order it with an optional S6 or Ikelite-compatible socket.
Digital SLR cameras generally create more pleasing image quality than compact cameras with an equivalent amount of megapixels. This especially applies to underwater photography when you want to capture blues instead of noise. With the HF-350D manufactured by HUGYFOT it becomes possible to benefit from a compact cameras systems size while substantially increasing your underwater image quality.
Release date is 15th Oct 2005.
